A Spark Appears
A local organizer drops a half-baked idea into the neighborhood — maybe a pasta singles' night, a vinyl session, or a sunset walk.
Co-Created Microgatherings
A local organizer posts a half-baked idea. You say what would make it good for you — the time, the agenda, the house rules — and the best ideas make the final plan. Then you RSVP to a Twin Cities gathering under 12 people, built the way you like it.

Built For City Transplants
OMI is made for people who moved somewhere new — for work, for school, for a fresh start — and found that adult friendships don't just appear. If you've ever scrolled a feed full of other people's plans in a city where you know three people, you're exactly who we built this for.
Our founder, Summer, moved to the US alone nine years ago. As an introvert, she learned the hard way how heavy social life can feel for a newcomer. Over the past year she curated monthly community events and watched real friendships form at those tables. OMI exists to scale that impact — so every city transplant can find their people without the awkward planning.

From a half-baked idea to a real table with real people — together.

You and your neighbors suggest the time, agenda, event rules, and little touches that make it feel right. The organizer listens and shapes it with the group.
Once the gathering is finalized, you get notified and RSVP to a real microgathering — always under 12 people — at a curated local spot nearby.
Philosophy
"Life happens in the gaps"
Coffee after work. A sunset walk. Late-night ramen. A pickup volleyball game. The best memories aren't planned months ahead — they're decided in a group chat. OMI helps those moments actually happen.

Co-Creation, Explained
Most apps hand you a finished event and a long RSVP list. On OMI, events start as a rough idea and get finished by the people who want to be there — so the time, the agenda, and the vibe all fit you.
Something like "pasta singles' night" or "sunrise run + coffee". No date, no agenda, no rules yet — just a spark posted to the neighborhood.
Suggest the time that actually works, what the evening should include, what keeps it comfortable — phones away, no-shop-talk, split the bill. Then upvote the suggestions you like from other neighbors.
They take the most-loved ideas and finalize the date, place, agenda, and house rules — so the event is shaped by the people who'll be in the room.
Everyone who helped shape it is notified first. RSVP, show up, and enjoy a night built the way you wanted it — always under 12 people.
Curated, Not Crowded
Most event apps hand you a giant RSVP list. We do the opposite: fewer events, selected organizers, co-created details, and a hard cap on the table.
No open-invite chaos. Each gathering is reviewed for vibe, location, and group size before it goes live in your neighborhood feed.
Hosts are hand-picked neighbors and creators who care about the room — not follower counts. We keep the ones people come back for.
Microgatherings by design. Small enough that everyone talks, low-stakes enough that showing up alone feels normal.
Locals help shape an organizer's half-baked idea into something worth showing up for — from time and agenda to the little details that make it click.
