Built For City Transplants
OMI is made for people who moved somewhere new — for work, for school, for a fresh start — and found that adult friendships don't just appear. If you've ever scrolled a feed full of other people's plans in a city where you know three people, you're exactly who we built this for.
Our founder, Summer, moved to the US alone nine years ago. As an introvert, she learned the hard way how heavy social life can feel for a newcomer. Over the past year she curated monthly community events and watched real friendships form at those tables. OMI exists to scale that impact — so every city transplant can find their people without the awkward planning.
From a half-baked idea to a real table with real people — together.
A local organizer drops a half-baked idea into the neighborhood — maybe a pasta singles' night, a vinyl session, or a sunset walk.
You and your neighbors suggest the time, agenda, event rules, and little touches that make it feel right. The organizer listens and shapes it with the group.
Once the gathering is finalized, you get notified and RSVP to a real microgathering — always under 12 people — at a curated local spot nearby.
Philosophy
"Life happens in the gaps"
Coffee after work. A sunset walk. Late-night ramen. A pickup volleyball game. The best memories aren't planned months ahead — they're decided in a group chat. OMI helps those moments actually happen.

Curated, Not Crowded
Most event apps hand you a giant RSVP list. We do the opposite: fewer events, selected organizers, co-created details, and a hard cap on the table.
No open-invite chaos. Each gathering is reviewed for vibe, location, and group size before it goes live in your neighborhood feed.
Hosts are hand-picked neighbors and creators who care about the room — not follower counts. We keep the ones people come back for.
Microgatherings by design. Small enough that everyone talks, low-stakes enough that showing up alone feels normal.
Locals help shape an organizer's half-baked idea into something worth showing up for — from time and agenda to the little details that make it click.
